Meet Nikki

Gardener • Educator • Grower

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here.

I'm Nikki Green, and I've always believed there's something pretty special about growing your own food. What started more than a decade ago as my attempt to be a little more responsible and save a few dollars at the grocery store turned into something much bigger.

I fell in love with gardening.

The more I learned, the more I realized that a garden isn't just a place where vegetables grow. It's where we learn patience, pay attention to the seasons, get our hands in the soil, and reconnect with something that has become surprisingly distant for many of us—where our food actually comes from.

And then I started connecting the dots.

The food we grow becomes the food we eat. The food we eat becomes part of how we nourish ourselves. And the act of gardening itself can bring us outside, keep us moving, connect us with nature, and give us a greater appreciation for the food on our table.

That connection is what eventually led me to study nutrition and wellness.

I became a Board Certified Nutrition Coach through the AADP, and continued my education in nutrition, gardening, and wellness. My background in nutrition gave me a deeper understanding of the relationship between what we grow, what we eat, and how we care for ourselves.

But here's the thing—I don't believe you need to become a nutrition expert or a master gardener to benefit from any of this.

You just need to start growing.

A tomato plant on the patio. A few herbs in a pot. A backyard vegetable garden. A handful of lettuce seeds tucked into the soil.

Every garden starts somewhere.

Today, my work through Green Sprout Living is focused on teaching people how to grow their own food, understand what they're growing, make the most of their harvest, and discover the many ways gardening can become part of a healthier, more connected life.

I teach what I've learned, but I'm also still learning right alongside you. I'm continually experimenting in my own garden, working with the seasons, improving my soil, trying new crops, preserving what I grow, and sharing the lessons—successes and failures included.

Because that's gardening.

You plant. You learn. You adjust. You grow.

And that's exactly how I think about a healthy life, too.

My goal with Green Sprout Living isn't to create perfect gardens or perfect eaters. It's to give people the knowledge, confidence, and inspiration to grow something of their own and discover what happens when we reconnect with our food from the ground up.

That's what Green Sprout Living is all about.

My Background & What I Bring to the Garden

My path to Green Sprout Living has always been about connecting the dots between growing food, nourishing ourselves, and living well.

I'm a Master Gardener with more than a decade of hands-on gardening experience, and I hold a Board Certified Nutrition Coach certification through the AADP. My education in nutrition and wellness deepened my understanding of the connection between the food we eat and how we care for our bodies, while years in the garden taught me that some of the best lessons can't be learned from a book alone.

I'm a hands-in-the-soil kind of gardener. I love experimenting, figuring out what works, learning from what doesn't, and sharing those lessons with others.

Through Green Sprout Living, I bring those two worlds together through gardening education, workshops, garden services, and practical resources that help people become more confident growing and using their own food.

I believe you don't have to grow everything or change everything. Start small. Learn as you go. Grow what you love. And enjoy the process.

Because the goal isn't a perfect garden.

It's a garden that works for you—and a life that is nourished by what you grow.
